Adventure at Carpenter Creek

Three lakes for Pika & Maya to swim in, Arrow, Summit and the Solcan lakes... Also a relaxing dip at the Nakusp hotsprings for us and lunch at the Cup and Saucer in Silverton and we were on our way to Sandon and Carpenter Creek to check on our property. We didn't make it far on the forestry road, an avalanche had swept across the road, so we decided to camp at a pull out beside Carpenter Creek and hike along the road, lots of snow and beautiful scenery... We decided to stop for a bite to eat when Garth all of a sudden yelled whoa BEAR, a big black bear wanted to join us for some of our lunch... It happened so quickly... Didn't get a photo of the bear and lucky Pika & Maya didn't see the bear but we blew our whistle, made lots of noise, also Garth had a big golf umbrella to make us look bigger and we walked quickly down the road, at one moment I looked up into the woods and made eye contact with the bear, we were going the same direction, finally we past the bear and we hiked back to the van and had a relaxing evening by the fire...

Next stop... The Valley of the Ghosts and to Kaslo for lunch at Blue Belle Bistro before we head to Anisworth Hot springs and oh yes, another lake for Pika and Maya to swim in ...
