Adventures of Carpenter Creek re-cap

We've been home for a week now… aww can't wait to get out to the mountains again…

All in all, we had a blast at Carpenter Creek… when we first got there, we had to rebuild our outhouse, hopefully the new a-frame shape style will survive the 600 cm snow the valley gets in the winter, good thing the outhouse project was only a day project! After that we biked and hiked and explored the Carpenter Creek valley… highlights were abandoned mine sites and abandoned cabins, relaxing along carpenter creek, some trail building/clearing, one really long (7 1/2 hours hike) to the Carpenter Basin, the headwaters of Carpenter Creek below Mount Carlyle… stunning views!!! The black flies were bad, Garth got eaten alive… but we also saw lots of humming birds, bears, deers and porcupine… so much wildlife, amazing place!!!

St Leon to Nakusp

A night at the remote st leon's hotsprings and a night at the Nakusp hotsprings... Both relaxing and unique...

Before we soaked in the springs we took a short hike to the source of the Nakusp hotsprings... the walk was so beautiful threw a lush cedar forest...

The water was so hot...

St Leon hotsprings... After a rough road down, it was a quick walk up in a cedar forest to the springs... we had the little upper source pool to ourselves... So relaxing...

Next stop... Carpenter Creek...
