Anniversary Camp-Out

We just celebrated our 8th Anniversary on the summer solstice and to further celebrate we are we are off for a mini road trip… destination the Columbia Icefields…

We also have a heli-tour (that we cashed in some airmiles for) booked for Saturday at 3:30, we are going on the Wilson Ice field tour, should be fun!!!

Then we are going to camp at Wilcox in the Columbia Icefields in Jasper and do some hiking... hopefully not too much snow ;-) they say the hiking is in fair to good conditions…

We will likely back on the 29th…. then back to work for G-arth…

Home again

A week on the road... Taking our time driving, hiking and camping, Pika and Maya swam in 8 lakes, 4 hotsprings for Sara and Garth, we also had a lovely lunch visited Laureen at Davison Ochards in Vernon... Good times all around...

And just as we entered the city we drove past our friends Ziggy, Brandi and Brian as they were leaving for a little road trip of their own, wonderful way to end the road trip...

Lussier River Hotsprings... Apparently abnormally cool but still relaxing after a hike...

A hike along two lakes... Whiteswan and Moose Lake...

Relaxing by the campsite...

Now for the final stretch home via some stops along the way...

The Old Growth Forest

A relaxing evening at Moyie Lake before we head to spend a couple of days at the Whiteswan Park...

Stone art (latte stop @ the Dragonfly cafe) at Salmo...

Nelson for gas, shopping (organic beer, a bakery and some cool clothing stores) and lunch (burritos)...

Old Growth recreation trail... about a 11km drive to Kokanee Glacier Park, the 2km trail started out clear and the snow got deeper along the way...
