Project outhouse

Took a couple of days of hard work but the outhouse is built, a metal shed with wooden reinforcements...

Wednesday we went for a bike ride up the valley... Great views... rode our bikes to the end of the road by Carpenter creek then the road was washed out with fallen trees... Will have to come back later with the chainsaw and make a trail to the crest of the valley... such a beautiful place...

Now fireside with campfire nachos and great views and off to the town of Kaslo tomorrow (Thursday) to re-stalk on the necessities and check messages and upload this blog I drafted up... Cheers...

First couple of days...

The first night we stayed at the cabins at Halcyon Hotsprings. We each had a pint of honey organic beer and shared an appetizer then went to the hotsprings... Was so relaxing after a long day of driving...

The next morning we took the pups for a swim at the lake, had some breakfast at the king fisher restaurant and hit the road again to our property at Carpenter Creek...

Carpenter Creek... What a beautiful and unique place, wildflowers, cedar trees, humming birds... A little more sloped than anticipated which makes it challenging but we are up for it... Let the daydream and brainstorming begin while we start the first project of building an outhouse...

Off the Grid

Packing up both of our VW's and hitting the road… destination… Carpenter Creek… that's where we have 16 acres of raw land.

This adventure will be new for us… haven't really explored our property as we just acquired the land late last fall and our normal holidays include road trips… travelling place to place… this time we will be camping out at our property for three weeks. We've got a couple of projects planned… build an outhouse, solar shower stall and foot bridge over the creek.

The Slocan Valley offers tons of adventures from hiking and biking to finding farmers markets to exploring undeveloped and commercial hot springs (I believe that there are 5 hot springs in the valley to find)… oh and Pika and Maya will have tons of opportunities for swimming as the Slocan and Kootenay Lakes are close by too… let the adventure begin…

It will be hit or miss for cell phone service but will try to update along the way…
